Reach to the red sky (the slaying, the flaying) The sound of their voices (don’t blame me, don’t blame me) I could not bear the torture and pain trapped in this dead night walls made of dead men encased in snow, soon entombed in rust, for the edicts of strongmen Frozen I am, I must on go on, All that is left, for me is my sword Bitter wind, whips my face And tries my courage Dragged to war, with raging beasts a stone resolve is my scourage My blade, leads my way Forth to victory Or my end Tremor upon This final impasse The dealers of betrayal Riding in the dark, I pray for precious chance I know may never come Bitter wind, whips my face And tries my courage Dragged to war, with raging beasts a stone resolve is my scourage

Quaking the ground Storm-covered badland Fate flows abound Into it’s abyss Life, it turns to dust, vile grit bodies serve feral avarice , Monsters are birthed Since time yet unknown Fury unearthed Fools left to fall Harvest, deadly harvest maelstrom harvest Terror of vast desert vale Blood, it lines Rows of endless grinning fangs Old behemoth Tombed, forevermore In this chasmic core Tombed, prey to restore faceless carnivore Tombed, forevermore Face what you’ve abhorred Tombed, prey to re-, prey to restore Flesh for an old god Quaking the ground Ancient colossus Run from it’s sound Doom lies within deadly harvest

Fever Bitter Dreaming Deceiver Gnawing madness, paranoia Colours their eyes Serpents waiting patiently for one to cry out This earth is blanketed in smoke The flames are fanning and they still don’t know The liars slither in their cloaks To drag the world down into it’s death throes The sun shines low The verdict: “throw a wrench into this endless crying shame” Save yourselves disgrace Will ages show Though cause was known They couldn’t bring themselves to let go, let go How will we turn to stone? Fate's all but sewn In this humid rise, how do we find true north? Death cult of fools, turn from the void, It’s only pain Roiling skies, humid rise, through the heat, pale blue it dies Murderous, Don’t let it in, don't let them in, don't let this in now prayers for a burning land, wasted and tainted men atop their charcoal thrones death well-acquainted See them now The sun shines low The verdict: “throw a wrench into this endless crying shame” Save yourselves disgrace Will ages show Though cause was known They couldn’t bring themselves to let go, let go In this time and space, Flown on the wind, The tides of woe, The air is thin In bitterness, They will light a flame, immolate In this time and space, Flown on the wind, The tides of woe, The air is thin In bitterness, They will light, immolate

about

Hyloxalus is a power metal studio project in started by Mike Bell in 2017, and later joined by Nina Laderoute in 2018. Their music is a mish-mash of early 2000s keyboard laden riffy power metal like Stratovarius, Blind Guardian(Night at the Opera era) and old Nightwish. Fans of that style will find plenty to like.

The self-titled EP was recorded in 2019 by Mike and Nina, with Mike's friend Danial Devost(Solborn) lending his Neil Peart-esque style to session drum recordings, as well as mixing it. Mastering done by Diego Fernandez.
